The Catcher in the Rye

The Catcher in the Rye - J.D. Salinger I had to read this in 11th grade. My teacher insisted that she had never had a student who didn't like it. I guess I was her first.I hated this book. The protagonist drove me crazy. He whined and complained about his life so much I just could not relate to him at all. He was pitiful and his aversion to "phony" people was boring and his fixation on it became redundant as the book went on.There was nothing I enjoyed about this book.
